Fanciful Fairy Tag

I have been busy lately experimenting with my newest passion of mixed media! I am having a blast seeing these projects come together and want to share!

For this  tag I used several techniques and several mediums.

The Background: Tim Holtz tissue tape I used for a resist technique and then applied several colors of his distress stains to my craft sheet. I then swiped my tag through the colors slowly and dried with heat tool. The Fairy was stamped with black Staz-on ink and then heat embossed with glossy black embossing powder. I then applied embossing paste through a stencil and sprinkled with silver embossing powder to get that puffed up look. added some embellishments from stash and a triple bow and voila!

Summer Beach Escapes Tag

I had a lot of fun making this tag with all the layers of inks and embossing. I also used real netting over my shells for that added beachy feel.

Altered Surfaces CC3 challenge #33

So sad that we have come near the end of the CC3 challenges! #33 is Altered Surfaces as seen on page 45 of your copy of Compendium of Curiosities 3. Although I cannot disclose the technique used, I can tell you that my altered surfaces are dominoes! I also used the technique on my alpha parts word "ART".

I used a variety of distress paints, Tim's Tissue, canvas, Mod Podge and some other great stash items to create this piece!

I adhered Tim's Idea-ology Postale tissue wrap to my canvas in torn segments using a brush and matte finish Mod-Podge.
I adhered my altered dominoes with glue and then made my own hangars out of copper wire and hung my cute  embellishments!

I absolutely loved this technique and know I will find myself using it again! I also have a new love for altering dominoes!!

Christmas in July!

Tim Holtz 12 tags of 2015 --- July
Although I do love the fourth of July My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas. I chose to take a Christmas in July approach to this month's tag and here is my result!

I created this mixed media canvas for the canvas challenge at The Mirror Crack'd. This is actually my first mixed media canvas. I really enjoyed it and will definitely create more pieces like this!
